Responsible for assisting in the launch of various Houston artists including Doughbeezy; the host of the event and owner of the title “Kickback Killa,” on Sunday March 25, the legendary mix of performances and lyrical showcase via cyphyers known as “Kickback Sundays” returned to SF2, an immensely popular clothing store with two locations in Houston.

A breeding ground for both fledgling and matured artists; “Kickback Sundays” provides a platform for artists to both network as well as show and prove.

This week we saw the cypher crown given to K-Dogg, a hungry young artist from the Headwreckas camp, eager to prove himself; and that he did. Though not without a true lyrical battle, spitter Too Real and a few others nearly won the title themselves.

As the event swings back into gear, it will be interesting to see who pushes themselves to the forefront. As it is promoted, it truly is an event where you can run into someone that can further your career.

In the Know:

Teresa & Suzie, owners of SF2 and the brainchilds behind the event; They are behind the structuring of a multitude of events throughout the city.
