Former Houston City attorney, Ben Hall, has conceded to Mayor Annise Parker, awarding her with her third and final term. Mayor Annise lead through out the election, overwhelmingly succeeding over Ben Hall, causing him to call it quits. It seemed as though nothing would stand in the way of Mayor Annise remaining a prominent figure in the city of Houston.

Ben Hall had this to say, “We may not have enough votes to be the next mayor of the city of Houston, but that does not end this journey, that does not end our love for this great city. And it definitely does not end our appreciation for all your hard work and all of the efforts that you have given to make this campaign competitive, to make sure that all the issues are addressed, to awaken the mayor’s office to the concerns of the entire city,” Hall said. “If nothing else, we have spoken on behalf of the dreams and aspirations of a great people.”

Moments after Benn Hall’s concession speech, Mayor Annise Parker appeared before her supporters to thank them for their support and her plans for the future of this city. “I love this city. Tonight, I feel like it loves me back, so thank you for the very warm welcome. Thank you. Thank you to the many people who made this victory possible.” she said. “I want to make Houston an even better place to live, work and raise a family. I thank my family for the great support that they always give me.”

This is Parker’s third and final term to service as mayor.

Hall and Parker revved up a heated battle over the last couple of months. Early on in the campaign, Hall took aim at Mayor Parker’s economical strategies, accusing her of not having an effective strategy to grow Houston’s economy. Then releasing his own five-point plan to promote business and job development inside Houston. Parker and her campaign then fired back at Hall, attacking him for not paying his school-district taxes, which Hall spent most of his latter campaign time, defending himself against those allegations.
