Bosta Wine & Coffee

1801 Binz St.

Houston, TX 77004

Hours: Open Daily. 7 AM – Midnight

BWC LogoThis is not your average coffee shop. If you are looking for a quaint café that hasn’t gone mainstream as of yet, look no further than Bosta Wine and Coffee (located in the museum district). I dropped in for lunch and had a great experience. Even though the lunch menu is not vast, the Panini’s and meat and cheese plates seem pretty certifiable. Need to tame that sweet tooth? Try a pastry. With an outdoor patio and comfortable seating on the inside, Bosta is a versatile location. Whether you want to unwind after work, conduct intimate business meetings, or looking to cater to your significant other…this is the place to be. I almost forgot to mention the extensive wine menu. A coffee shop with wine AND doesn’t close until midnight? Sign me up! So if you are craving that late night caffeine fix or just looking to partake in a quiet museum district outing, make sure you check out Bosta.

Julep

1919 Washington Ave.

Houston, TX 77007

Hours: Open Daily. 4 PM – 2 AM

Julep LogoYeah, I know what you are thinking, another bar on Washington. However, this is one with Southern charm! The very successful ownership group known as Clumsy Butcher, who also own Underbelly, Hay Merchant, Pastry War, and Anvil, brings you Julep. No detail was spared in creating an authentic Southern atmosphere – from the lush décor to Chef Adam Garcia’s tasty oyster selection to the awesome drink menu. If you are brave enough to face Houston’s summertime humidity, then you should definitely enjoy a drink on the patio. Even though Houston has experienced a shift in the bar/party scene from Washington back to Midtown within the past year or so, Julep has the potential to bring patrons right back to Washington Ave. Perfect timing! Side note: don’t waste your time trying to order Maker’s.
