While the majority of the population was either engulfed with the Democratic Presidential Debate or the BET Hip Hop Awards, Houston’s native, Lecrae took home his own award. The Christian rapper was named “artist of the year” at the 46th annual Dove Awards.
The Grammy-winning artist made history last year when his album, Anomaly, became the first title album to top Billboard’s Top 200 and Gospel Albums within the same week. He also won Rap/Hip-Hop album of the year and Rap/Hip-Hop song of the year for “All I Need Is You”.
With seven studio albums under his belt, the Gravity rapper has been a pivotal change in bridging both rap/gospel music together for all to enojoy.
