Last night, the Houston Rockets solidified their spot in the Western Conference Finals. This season has been a great one! The players have been showing up and showing out. Fans have a sense of pride that can be felt through the streets. Several buildings downtown were lit up in red as a show of support.
Chris Paul, or if you prefer his nickname, CP3 has proven himself to be a great addition to the franchise. The chemistry between players is apparent and much needed. A team without good chemistry or with players that struggle to get along may suffer, even though those players may be very skilled at their jobs. The way he came in and instantly became a “team player” while being welcomed with open arms should’ve been a major sign of the dedication the city was about to witness.
Now, that the Utah Jazz has been defeated the Rockets are one team closer to the championship, that glorious trophy, and those oh so coveted rings. May 14th the battle between the hometown and the Golden Warriors will begin. It’ll be the first of four (or maybe more) games before the world watches two teams fight to the end. The first two games are home game so if anyone has some extra tickets you can reach me on Instagram @Ladi_Zeii_, okkkuuuurrrr (in my Cardi B voice)?
The fans have attended, boo’d, cheered, and gathered to watch multiple games for the last couple of months in anticipation of this moment! A matchup between the two teams may not go down in history, but it may be safe to say it will be an intense series. With all the major players on both teams, anyone who keeps up with basketball knows it’s about to go down!
Whether the Rockets continue to soar to the top or are forced to burn and crumble, the city is behind them and proud. They have shown tremendous dedication and drive this season. The Houston Rockets are coming for you, 2018 NBA Championship. Red Nation, stand up!
