Houston has hosted so many dope concerts. One of those concerts include the infamous halftime show of Super Bowl XXXVIII with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake in 2004. Another dope concert put on during the weekend festivities for Super Bowl LI, also hosted by Houston, was back in 2017 at Discovery Green when Houston’s own Solange performed. The stage was adorned with black girl magic! She brought out Yungstar and performed “Knocking Pictures Off Da Wall” with him in a segue from her song “F.U.B.U.” reminding us again of why we love her so much! Anyway, there are a few upcoming concerts in the city that will also be filled with good music!

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has hosted many artists. On Thursday, June 28th at 7pm, Chris Brown’s tour “Heartbreak On A Full Moon” with H.E.R., 6lack and Rich The Kid will be making its stop there. I’m sure it’ll be more than a treat to see Chris in his element! A few days later on Saturday, July 7th from 7:00pm-11:00pm, Miguel, Fantasia, Ne-Yo and Tank will all be performing at the Majic 102.1 Summer Block Party. With a line up like that, energies will be high and the lyrics will be flowing! Guys, if you’re attempting to impress, make up for a conversation gone sideways, or just create a memorable night, this will be a perfect date. Ne-Yo and Tank will do all the work for you!

Although the Majic 102.1 Summer Block Party will be a great show, the Houston Arena Theatre has some steep competition. Erykah Badu will be performing on the same night at 8:30pm! With hits like “Bag Lady”, “Tyrone”, “On and On”, and “Danger”, her originality, ability to stay relevant, and years in the music business, it’s safe to say it may be a sold out event. Exactly one week later on Saturday, July 14th, also at 8:30pm, “Miss Thang” herself, your home girl in your mind, Monica, will be in concert and will bring Leela James with her! The month of July will be busy for the venue, but for the last concert of the month, the trio En Vogue will hit the stage at 8:30pm to give the crowd all their favorites!

The city of Houston has a lot in store for music lovers this summer! Whether you prefer a night of Hip-Hop and R&B, just R&B, or Neo-Soul, there’s an event for you. Get out and enjoy all H-Town has to offer!
