Houston’s own, Propain, hosted a listening session for his fans at Takeover Studios
in Third Ward, Houston, TX for his LP, Ridin’ Slab. Patrons got to enjoy
complimentary drinks by Remy Martin (y’all know I love me some free drinks), food
catered by Joe Cajun Cuisines, and sounds by the Live and Direct Entertainment (LAD)
DJs.

Propain was a gracious host during the event. While the DJ spun his music,
Propain gave us background stories on some of his tracks, even his disagreement with
Rich Homie Quan’s hook on Propain’s recent smash hit, “2 Rounds“. Propain expressed how he did not originally like Rich Homie Quan’s hook for the song at first, but
grew to like it. After his introduction of tracks, Propain then spoke to anyone that
approached him and was willing to take pictures with anyone that asked. He was very
polite and smiled throughout the entire event. Other artists were also able to get
their music played by simply giving their music to the DJ.

I had the pleasure of hearing Propain’s Ridin’ Slab ahead of the event. I must say that I was impressed by his lyricism and music style. Propain’s music
stays true to the Houston sound, but gives his listeners a fresh take on Houston
Hip-Hop. It was a pleasure to finally meet Hiram Clark’s finest. Hopefully, it won’t
be the last.

You can find Propain’s LP, Ridin’ Slab on his website, www.gotpropain.com. Much love to the LAD DJs and Propain for inviting Houston TREND to this great event!
