Listen and download new track “Memories – I Think of You” by lyricist OneHunnidt and songstress Shatera.

This deeply soulful track features live guitar play by Brandon White, hypnotisingly compassionate vocals by Shatera and heart touching spoken word lyrics by OneHunnidt. The song is presented as an intro track to up coming mixtape by Herney the Great called “Diary of a Young Black Male” to be released December 2010. “Memories” has also become the signature theme song for the #RIPJJ twitter movement. Jonathan Allen Johnson (JJ) aka Shootamac is OneHunnidt’s you Onehunnidt – Memories (I Think of You)nger brother who as the tender age of 21 years old was murdered in a shooting February 4, 2010. Definitely a powerful track with a sincere message, “Memories” is the introduction to OneHunnidt’s spoken word/lyricist project call 100proof (in the works) and debut to his features on various artists’ albums/mixtapes.

JJ is the same JJ that was mentioned at the end of platinum artist Drake on “Miss Me” when he says, “Forever in Our Hearts, JJ. Love you Boy. H-Town!”. When asked about his relationship with JJ this is what Drake told Complex Magazine:

“I always had the outro on there from when I made the adjustments before Wayne did his part, but we added the very end [with Drake] talking on the studio bus. [Ed. note—Drake shouts out J.J. during the outro. Jonathan “Shoota Mac” Johnson, 21, was tragically shot and killed this past February in Houston.] To me, J.J. was family. When we go to Houston, it’s just a big family and J.J. was around a lot.”
