Houston, Texas– Smartie Pants Academy Center is the only childcare center in the Houston area that specializes in childcare for children with disabilities. After 11 years in business, the visionary, Dr. Sumiko Hamilton-Hervey has decided to open a 2nd location in Katy. The event is a Grand Opening that is open to the public and will be a true celebration. The brand has grown since originally opening. As they prepare to host the grand opening for the Katy location, they have also secured 2 franchise locations in the Spring area and Cypress area. The goal is to bring relief to parents of children who can not attend regular childcare facilities due to their disabilities.

With over 25 years in teaching Special Education to grade school kids, Dr. Hamilton- Hervey has had a passion for providing a safe environment for special needs children. March is National Disability Awareness Month and hosting an inclusive event is so important for Dr. Hamilton- Hervey. “It’s such a HUGE need for these centers all over the world, not just the Houston area. I believe in being an advocate for children with disabilities.”
