“What’s Real Anymore??”

Fake, phony, and fraud, there are a lot of people that are living deceitful lives. Mask, illusions, and smoke and mirrors, there are few that say they are what they are. However, Trae the Truth is as real as they come. He is a man that will tell it like he sees it and say it for what it is. Trae is known to be an activist not only by the people in the community but to those that sit in the offices. Even Houston’s previous mayor, Bill White recognized what Trae does and in 2008 he marked July 22 as “Trae Day”. A day that Trae has been known to bring huge acts (Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, and much more) to the city and perform FREE of charge. Unfortunately, in 2009 his event at TSU ended in a manor that he did not see fit to his liking and was apologetic for the incident, but the cities only Hip-Hop radio station wanted more. They chose to put him at the butt of the blame and then banned him for speaking in his own defense.

In 2010 Trae released “Can’t Ban The Truth” a street mixtape then he wiped his hands clean of the drama and continued to work on his studio release “The TRUTH”. The track “Inkredible” featuring Lil’ Wayne and Rick Ross was suppose to be that album. Even though that track was as amazing as it was Trae said that was just a small portion of what “The TRUTH” is  to be.

One night Trae and his cousins went to the studio hype from the  just shooting a video and Jay-Dub challenged Trae to freestyle on a beat they was playing and from that “48 Hours” came to life. To any screw head, this mixtape is deeply appreciated. From track 1 to 11 it is a reminiscent of the late and great DJ Screw. In fact the intro to it is Screw himself describing his style of mixing/DJing. With in 24 hours of recording Trae shot two videos for the mixtape.

“That was just the kind of vibe that I caught from it. The CD wasn’t even released itself, 48 Hours was leaked a week before it was suppose to come out. I just got the CD’s Today! (2-8-2011) And with the kind of response I got from it, it might be another 48 Hours coming.”
