I know my last post was about steps to a positive lifestyle, but I just had to write something else to get you to understand how passionate I am about it. For the past two weeks I’ve been reading this book titled: You are a Badass, how to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life. As I finished my last page I’ve come across a lot of tips, and not only wanted to share them with you, but I also wanted to share the new insight that I have about life and myself in general…….Read more.

If there is one thing that I can think of when it comes to this book, it’s the power of paying attention to how many times what you want to do in life will make it’s presence known. For instance, I really want to be a writer. Even if I find myself writing for a magazine that doesn’t pay me, but needs contributing writers. Because I am so passionate about it, and the joy that it brings me, I’m more than willing to do it because it’s what makes me happy, and this isn’t for anyone else to understand.

In this book, she tells you like it is. Telling you towards the end of each chapter, cardinal rules to getting and maintaining the life that you want to have. The rule that she repeats in every single chapter was always love yourself. That was always her most important rule. If you love yourself as much as you say that you do, then you’re going to give yourself the life that you desire and you’re not going to let anyone or anything get in the way of you obtaining that life. People, habits, insecurities, NOTHING.

Another key that she made clear was money. No money isn’t the root of all evil, it’s literally what you make it. If you know that you need money to obtain your goals, and to have the life that you want to, then you need to get out here and make it. So what if you have a serving job that pays you 2.10 a week before taxes and you know that your paycheck will be invisible. You can’t look at it that way. You have to think of it like this: I’m going to go to work, I’m going to make connections with my guests, and I’m going to have faith that people will tip me generously because I am putting out positive vibes into the universe. Even if you don’t earn the money that you need, make connections with these people. Make their day. Write them an encouraging note on their receipt, bring them a little extra sauce or dressing before they have to ask. DO SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY TO GET UN-ORDINARY RESULTS.

This one is my favorite. Put out into the universe, what you want the universe to give to you. I cannot express this enough. The vibes that you give out daily will always come back to you. Always. If you start off your day upset that you have to do another one of your daily routines of going to work, working from 9-5, getting off, stopping to get food, eating in the car, unlocking your door, locking your door, getting in the shower, wrapping your hair or putting your du-rag on and going to sleep. All to do it over again, get out of that habit. If you don’t like the job that you have, if it’s too stressful and you find yourself always complaining and driving yourself into a mental crash behind it, either find a new job, or find something about this job that drives you to do better. Life is too short to spend another day, year, or month doing something that DOES NOT make you happy.

Lastly, the power of focusing on what you want to become the reality. Most importantly, your reality. You have to decide right now, at this very moment. That today is the day that you’re going to do everything that it takes to get the life that you desire. No matter what it takes. The life that you are living is a direct reflection of how you feel about yourself and that meant so much to me. The level of security you feel about yourself shows in the life that you are living right now at this moment. Don’t you think it’s time for a change? When are you going to stop making excuses as to why you can’t and how you don’t have the time to do so? If you don’t have the money to have the life want or you don’t have the skills to get it, then find them. Go learn those skills, go find you a better job that can get you what you deserve. Leave those excuses in the past. If you want better, you will simply do what it takes to get it. Period.
